By using the barcode scanner when making stock in/out, you can prevent miscalculation and increase your work efficiency. BoxHero provides a barcode-scanning-optimized page for making a fast stock in/out.
For mobile devices, barcode scanning is available with a mobile device camera. External barcode scanning device linkage will be available in the future.
Barcode Scanner Mode
By clicking the
Barcode Scan button on the upper-right corner, you will be switched to barcode scanner mode.
Once you start scanning with the barcode scanner connected to your PC, the relevant product of the barcode will appear on the left. Whenever you scan a barcode, the quantity will increase by 1.
Submit, the barcode scanner mode will terminate and the scanned products will be added as new stock.
Please be reminded that only the barcodes already registered on BoxHero will be recognized. If you scan unregistered barcodes, it will be disregarded with a notification message on the bottom.
What are the supported barcode scanners?
There aren't any limitations to supported barcode scanners on BoxHero. Whether it’s a USB or Bluetooth model, as long as it can be connected to PC, any barcode scanner is available for use.
For a specific device’s installment or settings, please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Registration through the scanner is available only when the Boxhero webpage is active. If you have minimized the page or have a different program active on PC, the scanning will not operate.
After scanning with a barcode scanner, I must press the ENTER key to register.
Some scanners have different input settings for automatic input settings for ENTER key. Some devices have ENTER key as a default for registering, but setting change is needed for other devices.
To test your device’s current settings, please visit https://keycode.info and after scanning any barcode, please check if the final number indicated is 13(event.key 'Enter').
The barcode is displayed in a different language after I scanned it.
Language settings may be affected by the PC depending on the scanner. Please switch your keyboard language to English and proceed back to scanning.
